Dumbek Retreat w/ Carmine Guida, Mystic CT May 13
Registrations is now commenced for the dumbek retreat and hafla with Carmine Guida at the DragonŐs Egg in Mystic Conn. On Saturday, May 13th.
Gather at 12noon on Saturday for an afternoon intensive of workshops.
In the evening the dancers will join in for a dance party!
It will be a potluck hafla.
There are limited accommodations for crashing. So register early to guarantee a bed. The retreat ends at noon on Sunday.
I have had the privilege to study and play with Carmine a number of times. He is a great dumbek player, and an accomplished musician as well as a generous, patient instructor. Plus he is a great guy! For these reasons I have brought him up to The Dragon's Egg to be our resident dumbek guru! Also as Carmine has said: You learn so much when you are just hanging out and jamming.
Space is limited and the buzz for this event is building fast! To be fair, your space is reserved when I receive your check/money order. Email me to reserve your spot and get further instructions.
$60 for the full dumbek retreat, includes workshops, hafla, overnight accommodations.

Hafla $5 plus dish to share.

Yay! You asked for classes!
Classes at The Dragon's Egg are ongoing on Tuesday nights, 6:30 PM. 6 week session $60, or $12 to drop in.
The studio is located at 401 Shewville Rd in Ledyard, Connecticut
Beginning tribal will be taught by Katie. We'll cover the basic tribal steps, and work on learning how to do group improvisation. We will focus on flexibility and strength, and the importance of moving from the center.
